Autumn/Fall Everyday Make-up Look

Hello my lovlies! It's been a while, i know, i know...slap to the wrist! I've been so overwhelmed with other stuff I haven't had the chance to do a blog post and give it my 100%.

It's officially Autumn now and i couldn't think of a better post to do than a every day make-up look for my favourite season! Enjoy :) xox

1. Firstly I put the basics on... Moisturiser, primer, foundation, concealer and a powder.

  • Nivea Oil Free Day Cream
  • Benefits Porefessional Primer
  • Maxfactor face finity foundation - applied using a real techniques brush
  • Benefits Boi-ing Concealer
  • No7 translucent pressed powder - applied using an eco tools brush
In the cooler months, I don't mind putting a lot of face make-up on, you aren't going to sweat it off anyway!

2.  The next step in this is applying a primer (it's a crime not to prime!!), I use nothing except Urban Decays Primer Potion.
Then, using a real techniques angle brush I fill in my brows - the thicker the better. Brows are a common autumn/winter trend that pops up every year.

I always use a powder and angled brush to fill in my brows, as YOU are in control of where it goes and how thick you want it - slightly more difficult when using a pencil.  My go to brow powder is one from the Gosh range, found in super drug for £8

3.
The third step is the most time consuming step...when doing eye make-up patience is a virtue! Typically i start by adding a colour to my crease (the line where your eye socket ends on the lid, it's an obvious line). The easiest way to find this is to look slightly down in a mirror. Take a fluffy brush and apply a mid brown tone to your crease. You don't have to particularly be clean or tidy with this. I used the colour buck from the naked palette.

Next for the eyes pack on a gold colour all over the lids and in to the tear duct (inner corner of the eye). Notice how the brown colour looks a lot neater now? I used "half baked" from the naked pallette.

Now here comes the blending! This part takes the longest to do yet it is the most vital part in any eye make-up, especially when using four different colours in total! For blending i used an off white, almost grey MAC eyeshadow. I used a small dome brush (crease brush) and gently went over the edges of the dark brown colour to make it softer looking. I also, with a very light hand, used the colour inbetween the brown and gold, to make it a more subtle transition. Using a colour for this is optional, but it is essential that you use a clean brush to blend everything together.

The next step in the eye make-up process is to add a dark colour to the bottom lid (next to lash line), and the water line. You can skip this step completely or use liquid eye-liner for a more smouldering sultry look. I used dark horse from the naked palette and applied it with an angle brush.   Afterwards i added lashing's of mascara. What i most love about autumn is that messy mascara is encouraged! Spider lashes, for some reason always end up a big trend at this time of the year (the same as the big brow).

If you have any fall out or smudges like i do in the above picture, it's easy to take a cotton bud with water on it to clean up any smudges, additionally you can use a big fluffy brush to sweep away any fall out OR you can add concealer on top. Remember, make-up takes practice and it's ok not to get it right first time. We're only human after all! I noticed after i took this picture a part of my brow on the left disappeared, I fixed this before the next step. (See, another mistake...)

4. The second last step in this process is the contour, highlighting, bronzing and blusher stage. I used a No7 blusher along with the sleek face contour kit. I used a brush from next to apply my blusher and the contouring brush for well, contouring!

Here are some pictures of the final look! I forgot to take a picture of my lipstick but i'm wearing my trusty amorous by MAC. For this time of the year, think bold... think vampy! If you aren't a fan of the gothic look, a bright berry pink or red will work just as well for this time of the year. Unfortunately I couldn't find my lip brush for this tutorial, but when using such a dark/bold colour you'll succeed when you have one! You'll see why in the below pictures, especially with big lips, it can get pretty messy!

I just realised how terrible my hair looks in all of these pictures...apologises it was up in a bun drying off!
I hope you have picked up some tips from this blog post and it was some sort of help. Thanks for reading! XOXOX
