Fabulous Face and Nail Studio - Acrylic Nails

Hello my darlings, thank you for stopping by! This blog post will be all about my latest obsession (my nails) and a miniature first impression/review on my experience at Fabulous Face and Nail Studio. Previously the business was based in Seafield, West Lothian in Scotland but it has recently this year moved to Livingston Village - not far along from Seafield but the new location is absolutely wonderful - a converted barn that is ultra modern on the inside.

What did they do to my nails?

It's not a secret that acrylics nails are my favourite types of nails to get - and one of the nail technicians at this beauticians did a superb job. Me, of course being fussy and difficult wanted my acrylics a colour that they did not have. Fear not! Firstly I had natural acrylics put on, and then a cal gel put on top. This not only gave the acrylic a super glossy finish but gave them extra staying power! I got neon pink nails in the rounded almond shape - stay tuned to the end of this blog to see some pictures of them :) Although, these nails did break the bank a little bit at a whopping £40. The reason i chose to get acrylics again, was to dry and keep them for as long as possible...and opt for fillers when i fancy a change of design. This will also mean less damage to the nails! When it comes to nails, i 100% believe what you pay for is what you get.

The Salon and First Impression

As i briefly mentioned up above the salon is a converted barn (so i believe!) it looks really rustic and old fashioned outside... when i walked in i got a massive surprise to see black, white and red decor. Extremely modern! The psychical appearance of the place is really lovely. The private rooms for waxes, etc are named after cities such as New York & Las Vegas... I didn't catch on to this at first when members of staff were saying that so and so was in New York... my initial thought was, "I'm going to get a job here, all the staff seem to be able to afford trips over the pond!" On a more serious note though, i thought this was really quirky and fun.

I really enjoyed and appreciated the fact that the salon was open planned (minus the waxing rooms, for obvious reasons!). This meant that everybody was able to socialise all together, clients can talk to each other, clients can talk to beauticians that aren't working on them, etc. There's nothing I hate more than being taken down a dark grungy corridor and being placed alone in a room with somebody you barely know. C'mon girls, we all know what this feels like - no denying it!

The members of the staff were really relaxed and fun - they weren't like programed robots, their personalities really shone through and I loved that fact. I hate getting the same awkward chat over and over again with beauticians - I can honestly say this never happened here - which makes the salon all the better!

Rating

I can truthfully say this has been the best place that I have been to beauticians wise. I'm going to give it a fantastic 5 stars, 10 out of 10, 100% for happiness! I could have not asked for anything better from a beauticians. The staff, the actual job done (nails) and the decor. Absolutely loved it and I am about to phone and book up for some fillers!

I will let you know how well my nails are once i come back from holiday :)

Some pictures of my nails:

How they look in natural light :) ^

These pictures (up above) were taken in a dark room with the flash on my camera, this really shows how glossy they are!

From a funny angle! ^
